Winter in Grants Pass Oregon: Wine, Dinner, and a Show

January 2nd, 2018

Wine Tours

Southern Oregon is wine country and the Rogue Valley offers at least a dozen wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms within a short driving distance from the hotel (and 180 in the entire region). Top varieties include: Syrah, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Merlot, but you’ll be able to find a wide range of wines to fit any tastes.

Tips for Touring:

  • Check our list of wineries here and plan which ones you want to visit. Be sure to check their hours and directions.
  • Always have a designated driver.
  • Don’t forget to store any of your purchases properly – Idea storage temps are 55-65 degrees, store bottles on their sides, and keep out of direct sunlight.
  • Don’t forget lunch or dinner while you’re out. Check out some of our recommended dining destinations here.

With award-winning wines and stunning scenery, paying a visit to a few local winery tasting rooms can make your trip complete!

Take in a Show

The historic Rogue Theatre opened in 1938. The glowing neon and art deco exterior adds to the warmth and charm of the city’s historical district. After many years as a movie house, it reopened in 2000 as a regional non-profit performing arts center, complete with state of the art sound and lighting. You’ll find an array of rock, jazz, blues, and Celtic music as well as special events and performances.
