The Great Race Comes to Grants Pass

In 2019, the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty ended right here in Grants Pass, OR and here at the Redwood Hyperion, we had a front row seat to see all the racers! Each year the race route is mapped out so that the antique cars can tour some of the most scenic backgrounds the country has to offer. Since its inception in 1983, the race has grown in size and popularity and the participants develop a real sense of camaraderie as they go from destination to destination.

According to greatrace.com, “Many participants make big sacrifices to compete in the Great Race, and just about every participant schedules their lives around the Great Race. It isn’t simply a weekend affair, so plans are made well in advance to attend and participate. Some folks literally put their lives on hold to participate in the Great Race, and it’s this kind of dedication that has made the Great Race such an awesome event.”

We feel very lucky to have see this one in person!
