Redwood Hyperion to Host “The Great Race” Racers

June 19th, 2019

What is The Great Race?

The Great Race is an annual time, speed, and endurance rally for vintage cards 1974 and older. It was created back in 1983 by Tom McRae and Norman Miller. The inaugural event was truly a cross country race and the partners (and self-proclaimed car nuts) pulled it off. The rest, as they say, is history.

One of the key aspects of the race is interesting routes for the participants and amazing scenery. So this year, the racers get to go from Tacoma, WA to Riverside, CA.

The promoters also try to ensure the race is family-oriented so that participants could enjoy time with their children or even grandchildren in many cases. Participants and spectators alike always seem to have a great time.

This year’s route will see the drivers coming through Grants Pass! The Redwood Hyperion hotel is hosting about 150 drivers as the pit stop on their way south.
